Dani Belvin graduated in 2007 from UNM with a BA in Theatre Education and Asian Studies. Though she enjoys all aspects of the the theatre arts she gravitates towards primarily doing prop building, costume sewing, stage managing, and, of course, occasionally acting. However, the bulk of her
theatre work consists of theatre education and outreach, with an interest specifically in the theatre for social change work of Augusto Boal. Her past work includes as a theatre educator for UNM's Theatre Classes for Children, Summer Theatre Classes, and the Wrinkle Writing Program. In 2007, she directed a bilingual show for young audiences, ¡Bocón!, at Albuquerque High School. She has also done theatre related outreach at Barelas Community Center in Albuquerque and at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels in Western Japan. After spending the past year away from Albuquerque's theatre scene as an English teacher in Japan, she is pleased to be back and to serve as Blackout's Educational Outreach Manager. Currently, she is still searching for a way to meld her interests of theatre, education, drumming, Asia, and knitting.
