Leonard Madrid is a recent graduate of the MFA Dramatic Writing program at the University of New Mexico. He also has a BA in Design for Performance from UNM and a BFA in Theatre from Eastern New Mexico University. He has received the Kennedy Center's Award for Latino/a playwrights three times for the plays Tecolotito, Perla, and Aurora. Perla was also a finalist for the John Cauble short play competition. Recently, Volver Volver Volver was the LatinoWorks winner for the Association for Theatre in Higher Learning. He is also an actor, designer, and improviser. Leonard and his set, lighting, puppet, and costume designs have been seen on stages in the Albuquerque area.
